Apple announced iOS 13 on June 3rd, and released the developer beta that same day. We usually have to wait a few weeks for the public beta to be released, and today is that very day, the same as last year when the public iOS 12 beta landed on June 25th.
You can now download the iOS 13 public beta for your compatible iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, starting the process by heading over to beta.apple.com. The first thing that you will need to do is enroll your devices in Apple's beta program. You will then want to backup your iOS device via iTunes just in case you want to downgrade back to iOS 12 and retain your data. If you are on macOS Catalina already, select your device from Locations in the Finder sidebar. Create a backup then click Manage Backups to Archive your backup.
The next step is to switch over to your iOS device and open beta.apple.com/profile. Download the profile, then go into your Settings app and check for updates. The beta should show up and allow you to install it.
What's new in iOS 13? This year, Apple didn't just focus on overhauling the performance but there are plenty of visual candies, too, like the all-important Dark Mode. For the full overview of iOS 13, check out our in-depth overview of everything that is new, and a few small but important features Apple didn't have time to talk about.
Keep in mind that you should only install the public beta if you are comfortable with experiencing bugs in normal usage of your phone.
